Some in the male modeling business look back fondly on the career of Senator-elect Scott Brown—his “excellent hands” in particular. “He was drop-dead gorgeous,” says a former rep who, to be fair, now represents Brown’s daughter, Arianna. “He did a lot of hand work,” she continues, noting his “straight fingers, perfect nails,” and ability to “hold things correctly.” But not everyone from those days has the same opinion.

“He had a good look—dark hair and handsome,” concedes a photographer who worked with Brown—at least that’s what she says. She won a lunch date with the then-state senator last year and reminded his staff of their connection. “The assistant told me, ‘Scott Brown doesn’t know your wife and never modeled,’” her husband tells the Boston Herald. Of course, after the famous Cosmopolitan photo came out, that position became untenable. Another former colleague describes Brown as “not the kind of person who I would want to have my back.” (More Scott Brown stories.)
