Tea party Republican Rick Barber has outdone himself. In a kind of sequel to his last crazy ad, the Alabama congressional candidate has released a new video in which a man dressed like Abraham Lincoln declares that paying taxes amounts to slavery. “Hey Abe,” Barber asks, “If someone’s forced to work for months to pay taxes so a total stranger can get a free meal, medical procedure, or a bailout, what’s that called? What’s it called when one man is forced to work for another?”

At this point the camera zooms in to an extreme close-up of Fake Lincoln’s mouth, as he declares, “Slavery.” The screen then flashes a rapid-fire montage of images of slavery and, at one point, a German concentration camp. “We shed a lot of blood to stop that in the past, didn’t we?” says Barber. And if that’s not over-the-top enough for you, well, watch the extended YouTube version above. It involves singing. And Glenn Beck.
