(Newser) – It was too close to call until late yesterday, but former standout NBA shot blocker Chris Dudley couldn't block Democrat John Kitzhaber from winning a historic third term as Oregon governor. Kitzhaber, whose last term ended 7 years ago, will replace Gov. Ted Kulongoski, AP reports. The Democratic governor is leaving office after the two consecutive terms allowed by state law.
