The teenager whose body was discovered in the Boston suburb of Milton, which lies below a flight path to Logan Airport, almost certainly fell from a plane, say investigators. The 16-year old North Carolina boy had most likely stowed away inside the wheel well of a jet in Charlotte and fell when it lowered its landing gear, the New York Times reports. A resident alerted authorities after hearing a loud thud. The plane landed a short time later, and a hand print was subsequently found in the wheel well where none should have been.

In addition, personal items matching descriptions given by the family were found along the flight path. While it was unclear how the boy managed to make it onto the plane, officials voiced concern over the broader security implications of the event. Said one “I suspect that there will be a lot of scrutiny into this.” Read the full article.

Authorities also found a shattered plastic card with the remains of Delvonte Tisdale. “The altitudes were very high, and it gets very cold,” said Norfolk County's district attorney. "That card was shattered into such tiny pieces that it was consistent with something that had been frozen and shattered." (More Logan Airport stories.)
