Until this week, the best place to be imprisoned may have been ... Mexico? Police shut down a bar inside a prison in northern Mexico that plied inmates with beer, tequila, and vodka, reports AP. They even had a pool table. The deputy director of the low-security prison in Chihuahua state's capital has been fired, and some guards are in hot water.

Federal police and state authorities confiscated no small amount of booze—200 beer cans, 12 bottles of tequila, and 20 bottles of vodka. In other Mexican prison news, 17 inmates escaped Steve McQueen-style from a different prison in the north, this time in Reynosa. Authorities found a tunnel in the laundry room.
