(Newser) – Big baseball news today: National League MVP Ryan Braun successfully appealed a 50-day suspension after arguing that his drug test got botched, notes Bleacher Report, which rounds up coverage. The Milwaukee Brewers star was to sit out the first part of next season, but he convinced a three-member panel that his sample had been tainted by improper handling. He's the first player to win such an appeal, suggesting that baseball's drug-testing procedures are far from foolproof.
