Arizona voters head to the polls tomorrow to determine who will replace Gabrielle Giffords in Congress; yesterday, Giffords herself weighed in on the matter. The former congresswoman made a campaign appearance on behalf of former aide Ron Barber, who faces Republican Jesse Kelly in what's expected to be a close race in the Republican-leaning 8th District. Though she told the crowd, "Thank you for your support. Thank you very much," ABC News notes that Giffords left the talking largely to her husband.
"This is a little about closure," Mark Kelly said at the rally, which drew 800 supporters. "This closure on Gabby’s career in Congress, it wasn’t when she resigned in January. I really truly believe that this is this coming Tuesday." (Read more Gabrielle Giffords stories.)
