LG’s new touch-screen Voyager phone is vastly inferior to the obviously similar iPhone, despite offering a few features Apple doesn’t, concludes the Wall Street Journal. The Voyager's hardware and particularly its software fails to impress, and the phone’s interface is “clumsy and confusing, requiring too many steps to perform simple tasks," says writer Walt Mossberg.

The Voyager is $100 cheaper than the iPhone, and boasts a fast 3G data connection and built-in GPS for mobile navigation—and can even stream TV programs. But Mossberg notes the phone fails to capitalize on these bonuses, with a dinky web browser and convoluted menu system that doesn’t hold a candle to the iPhone’s polish. (More LG stories.)
