(Newser) – In Hollywood, sometimes you get engaged after just six months and end up splitting after 72 days of marriage. But, shockingly, there are other examples of hasty celebrity weddings that appear to have worked out. From the Huffington Post:

  • Carey Mulligan started dating Mumford & Sons frontman Marcus Mumford in February 2011; they were engaged by August of that year and married by April of the next.
  • Nicolas Cage met Alice Kim, then a waitress at a sushi restaurant, in February 2004. They were engaged after two months and married by August 2004.

  • Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon had been dating little more than a month when they eloped in April 2008—and they hadn't even slept together yet. (See how he proposed.)
  • When Giovanni Ribisi and Agyness Deyn got married in June 2012, they hadn't even publicly confirmed their relationship yet.
