Syracuse had been in this position before - an underdog heading into a game against No. 9 Georgetown. But this time the Orange couldn't pull the upset as they fell to the Hoyas, who rallied from seven down with four minutes left to force overtime, reports AP. Roy Hibbert, who scored 15 points, then had the lone basket in OT.

Each of SU coach Jim Boeheim's starters played at least 39 minutes, making fatigue a possible factor in their making one field goal down the stretch. The Orange (13-7) dressed only nine scholarship players, including five freshman, yet despite that and the presence of the 7'2" Hibbert, still managed outrebound Georgetown 44-33. Guard Jonny Flynn scored 24 in a losing effort. (More NCAA basketball stories.)
