Fear not, lovers of Jon Hamm: While the Mad Men star is indeed having throat surgery, the situation is not nearly as dire as you may have heard. Rumor had it Hamm was coughing up blood, but that's not the case, an insider tells Gossip Cop. He just has a non-cancerous polyp on his vocal cord, and removing it is a routine outpatient procedure, the source says. Hamm is expected to recover quickly, though no word on whether he'll have to shave his new beard for the procedure. (More Jon Hamm stories.)
