If you thought your relationship with your ex was rough, just be glad you're not Mary J. Blige's father. Thomas Blige, 63, was found at his home yesterday with three stab wounds, including one in his neck, following what police believe was an encounter with his former girlfriend. Police think Blige caught Cheryl White, 50, slashing the tires on his SUV outside his Michigan home. He confronted her, starting an argument that allegedly ended with White stabbing him, the Battle Creek Enquirer reports.

Blige stumbled inside, where his roommate called 911. Police found White at her nearby apartment with blood on her clothes and took her into custody. She's been charged with assault with intent to murder. Blige has undergone surgery, and according to NBC 8 is in critical condition. It's the seventh time police have been called over a domestic violence incident between the two in the last 6 months. In October, White was charged with aggravated domestic violence for hitting Blige with a glass candlestick. (More Thomas Blige stories.)
