With the summer getting underway, perhaps you're eager for a vacation. But perhaps you're not so eager to spend wads of cash. This summer, the average vacationer plans to spend $1,246 per person, up 9% from last year, WalletHub reports. A staycation could be the money-saving solution, and WalletHub is ready to help: It ranks the 100 biggest US cities in order of their suitability for such an endeavor, weighing such factors as availability of golf courses and pools, weather quality, number of parks, and the cost of a movie. The top five cities:

  1. Buffalo, NY
  2. Minneapolis, MN
  3. Cincinnati, OH
  4. Pittsburgh, PA
  5. Portland, OR

And the bottom five:

  1. Fresno, CA
  2. Anaheim, CA
  3. Laredo, TX
  4. Fremont, CA
  5. Chula Vista, CA
