What's White and White and Read All Over?
"I'm writing about the white people who think they're absolutely unique and individual," said the blog's proprietor. "I'm calling them out and poking fun of myself. The things I post are all the things I like too!"   (Shutterstock.com)

When a twentysomething writer launched a satirical blog called "Stuff White People Like" 6 weeks ago, he didn't expect an overwhelming response, and he certainly didn't expect to average 300,000 hits a day. The blog was intended to mock the way the media stereotypes ethnicities, but not all of its readers seem to be in on the joke, the LA Times reports.

"I'm white and I HATE Sarah Silverman!" wrote one, who professed to prefer Mo'Nique. The site catalogs everything from recycling to public radio to "breakfast places," moving other readers to protest that the view of white identity is too narrow—which is precisely the point. "Too many white people don't like to be reminded that they're white," says blogger Christian Lander. (More white people stories.)
