Perhaps lining up a post-White House gig, President Obama stepped in as guest editor for Wired this week, the AV Club reports. In addition to writing about why "now is the greatest time to be alive," he took the opportunity to list his favorite science fiction movies and TV shows. While his choices aren't surprising, "he's the leader of the free world, not a pop culture writer, so we'll let them slide." And for anyone who's less busy than the president, Wired has a rundown of where Obama's picks can be streamed online. Behold, Obama's top 8 sci-fi movies and TV shows:

  1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
  2. Blade Runner
  3. Close Encounters of the Third Kind
  4. Star Wars: Episode IV--A New Hope
  5. Star Trek: The Original Series
  6. The Martian
  7. The Matrix
  8. Cosmos: A Personal Voyage
