Sen. John McCain says the latest revelations out of the Trump White House are "at a point where it's of Watergate size and scale." The Arizona Republican, speaking Tuesday night at a dinner where he was receiving the International Republican Institute's Freedom Award, said, "We've seen this movie before," per the Daily Beast. "The shoes continue to drop, and every couple days there's a new aspect." McCain, speaking to a panel moderated by former Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer, said Trump needs to "get it all out" and let the American people make their judgement, reports the AP. "The longer you delay, the longer it's going to last," he said.

McCain, who chairs the Armed Services Committee, also called it "unacceptable" for Trump to invite Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov into the Oval Office last week, the AP reports. "I've known this guy Lavrov for 30 years, he’s an old KGB apparatchik stooge, and Putin is a murderer and a thug," McCain said, per the Daily Beast. Earlier Tuesday, it was reported that Trump had asked former FBI chief James Comey to stop the federal investigation into Michael Flynn. (More John McCain stories.)
