Florida Parents Die Days Apart, Newborn Twins Orphaned
Jevaughn Suckoo and Stephanie Caceres have left behind 3 young children.   (GoFundMe)

Tragedy followed hard upon tragedy for a Florida family earlier this month as a toddler and her newborn twin siblings lost both parents in a matter of days. On July 11, 26-year-old Jevaughn Suckoo was shot and killed in the West Palm Beach apartment complex he shared with his pregnant girlfriend, Stephanie Caceres, and their 1-year-old daughter, the Palm Beach Post reports. Police ruled the death a homicide and are still searching for suspects.

Three days later, as funeral services for Suckoo were being held, Caceres gave birth to their twins, People reports. The 27-year-old stayed in the intensive care unit for 10 days to treat an infection from her C-section but she died on July 26. A GoFundMe page has been set for the three children. As of this writing, the campaign had raised $90,000 toward its $100,000 goal. (Read more Florida stories.)
