President Trump used to know Oprah Winfrey "quite well," he tweeted late Sunday night, but he didn't exactly have warm words for his former acquaintance. Politico reports the tweet came after Winfrey appeared on 60 Minutes, which reprised a panel discussion it had last fall with 14 residents of Grand Rapids, Mich.—seven who voted for Trump and seven who did not. "One year into Donald Trump's presidency, Americans remain divided, often unwilling to listen to what the other side has to say," said Winfrey, now a contributor to the program. "To mark President Trump's first year in office, we decided to repeat the experiment."
The president was unimpressed. "Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey ... interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes," he tweeted. "The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!" Reuters points out that "Winfrey made no declarative statements for or against the president in the program." But CBS News reports she did ask whether the panelists thought he was fit for office, and whether they believe he made the "shithole countries" comment. (Trump previously said he'd beat Winfrey if she ran in 2020, though she largely shut down the possibility with one paragraph last month.)
