A newly installed surveillance system captured a bizarre scene at a Salinas, Calif., home: a man licking the doorbell ... for three hours. Suspect Roberto Daniel Arroyo could face misdemeanor charges of petty theft and prowling, ABC 7 reports, but homeowner Sylvia Dungan notes, "You kind of laugh about it afterwards because, technically, he didn't harm anybody, he didn't break anything." The Dungans were out of town at the time, but their children were home. The homeowners were alerted to the incident because their surveillance system alerts them to movement by the front door.

"I thought, boy there’s a lot of traffic. I go, 5:00 in the morning? My son doesn’t get home till 6am, well then who the heck is that?" Dungan tells KION. Surveillance footage also caught Arroyo, 33, allegedly moving an extension cord to the front yard and "relieving himself," per ABC 7. He also allegedly visited a neighbor's home. "We were pleasantly surprised the image was so clear it didn't take us long to identify the individual," says a spokesperson for the local police department. (More weird crimes stories.)
