Dissed By Town, Va. Landlord Opens Sex Shop
"People like our products," said the sex shop owner. "They want that escape, and that's what we're trying to do--give them a little pleasure in their day. We're doing a community service."   (Shutter Stock)

Revenge is a dish best served cold—and for one Virginia landlord, at a sex shop, the Washington Post reports. Michael Zarlenga spent $350,000 renovating his hunting and fishing store in historic Old Town Alexandria, only to have the town nix his plans at the last minute. Broke and furious, Zarlenga rented the space to a sex shop owner.

“I can't say I didn't know it would ruffle feathers," he says, and it has: Alexandria’s mayor says it’s “inappropriate,” but admits he can’t force its demise. Business is booming at Le Tache, whose owner calls it “a community service.” Zarlenga, who owns another storefront, isn’t done: “That corner will always be an eyesore. That's a little slice of revenge.”
