Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger has landed a $3 million publishing deal for two books, Crain's New York Business reports. The hero captain will write a memoir about the Hudson River crash landing and a volume of poetry for William Morrow, a division of HarperCollins. It's the kind of deal publishers make "to humor a would-be author," says the Daily Beast's Sara Nelson.

"There's a lot more substance to him than most people getting their 15 minutes of fame," said one editor who met with the aspiring author.
