This time, apparently the Goonies weren't good enough. Singer Cyndi Lauper flubbed the national anthem at the US Open women's semifinals, in a ceremony honoring 9/11 victims. After a moment of silence, and as an honor guard marched, Lauper did a mash-up of lines from the anthem, changing “O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming" into “O’er the ramparts, we watched as our flag was still streaming."

And as always happens after these Christina Aguilera-esque bungles, people took to Twitter to express their outrage, reports the Hollywood Reporter. "Wowww Cyndi Lauper just messed up the words to the National Anthem...and a fan screams out, 'Crackhead!'," wrote a less charitable viewer. At least Aguilera "covered it up like a pro," writes Yahoo. "Lauper, on the other hand, mumbled her way through the line she messed up, like an elementary school student who forgets the lyrics to 'Tomorrow.'" (More Cyndi Lauper stories.)
