Martin Havlet, playing in his first game since the season opener, scored twice within the first 43 seconds last night to spark a 5-1 Blackhawks victory over the struggling Lightning. It was the fifth straight loss for the Lightning, who now possess a league worst 2-9-1 record on the road, the St. Petersburg Times reports.

Elsewhere in the league:

  • The Oilers fell to the Avalanche 4-2 after being outshot 36 to 9 in the first 40 minutes.
  • The Kings beat the struggling Sharks in a 3-2 shootout.
