The remake of 1981 cult classic Evil Dead devoured the box office this weekend, taking in $26 million domestically and $30.5 million worldwide, says the Hollywood Reporter. Left shaking in its wake was DreamWorks' prehistoric comedy The Croods and G.I. Joe: Retaliation with about $21.1 million apiece.
