(Newser) – When police asked a suspected drunk driver for his license, he offered an alternative: a can of beer. "When you ask somebody for a driver's license, you're not expecting a can of beer, that's for sure," says a spokesman for police in Kent, Washington, per KOMOnews. As if that wasn't weird enough, police say Omar Medina, 26, told them he wasn't required to cooperate with them, informing them that he was an assassin for the US government who'd killed multiple people.

Medina had caught the attention of witnesses when he visited a 7-Eleven looking drunk on June 8; they called police, who spoke to Medina in the store's parking lot. "Based on his physical demeanor, his physical condition, he was obviously intoxicated, so the officer placed him under arrest for DUI," the spokesman says. Turns out Medina had had three earlier DUI arrests; he'd also had his license revoked. (Read more strange stuff stories.)
