Marion Bartoli of France is this year's women's champ at Wimbledon after she defeated Germany's Sabine Lisicki in straight sets today, 6-1, 6-4, reports AP. She won six straight games in the first set and five in the second for her first major victory. Bleacher Report has a telling stat about this year's tournament: There were so many upsets that 15th-seed Bartoli never faced a player ranked higher than herself. Lisicki, ranked No. 23, provided the biggest upset of all when she defeated Serena Williams. Click for more on their match. (Tomorrow, No. 1 Novak Djokovic plays No. 2 Andy Murray, who's hoping to be the first Brit to win the men's title in 77 years. Click for a preview.)
