Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux's marriage has ended up being shorter than their engagement. The celebrity couple, who wed in August 2015, announced Thursday that they have separated, US Weekly reports. They said they had originally planned to keep the move private, but decided to "convey the truth directly" because "the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent," reports CNN. "This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year," they said in a statement. "We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship." They said they are "determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another," despite "fictional narratives" printed elsewhere. (Read more Jennifer Aniston stories.)
