Report: Cohen Says Trump Knew About Infamous Meeting

Michael Cohen has some bombshell news about the Trump family's pre-election contacts with Russians and he's willing to talk to Robert Mueller about it, CNN reports, citing "sources with knowledge." The sources say Trump, despite his repeated denials, knew in advance about a June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer who was expected to deliver damaging information on Hillary Clinton. A source tells NBC News that Cohen is willing to tell Mueller that Trump Jr. told his father about the meeting. The sources say Cohen was present when Trump was told about the meeting, and heard him approve it, though he doesn't have any evidence.

Rudy Giuliani, the president's attorney, reacted angrily to the report, calling Cohen a "pathological liar." "He's been lying all week, he's been lying for years," Giuliani told CNN's Chris Cuomo. "I don't see how he's got any credibility," Giuliani said of Trump's longtime personal attorney, calling him "the kind of witness that can really destroy your whole case." Cohen declined to comment on the issue to Reuters, while an attorney for Trump Jr. said his client, who told the Senate Judiciary Committee that his father didn't know about the meeting, "has been professional and responsible throughout the Mueller and congressional investigations."
