(Newser) – The British royal family held its first ever same-sex wedding over the weekend when a cousin of Queen Elizabeth wed his partner seven years after divorcing his wife. But as Vanity Fair reports, there's definitely no bad blood between the royal groom, 55-year-old Lord Ivar Mountbatten, and his ex, Penny. In fact, at the suggestion of the couple's daughters, she walked Mountbatten down the aisle Saturday and gave him away as he wed James Coyle. The nuptials were another historic first in a year of royal weddings that also saw Prince Harry marry biracial divorcee Meghan Markle. Per People, Mountbatten shared his excitement on Instagram following the ceremony, which took place in a chapel at his family home, Bridwell Park. "Well we did it finally!" he wrote. "It was an amazing day despite the miserable British weather." (Read more British royals stories.)
