President Trump is in the White House because that's where God wants him, according to Sarah Sanders. The White House press secretary told the Christian Broadcasting Network in an interview aired Wednesday that she believes the Trump presidency is part of God's plan. "I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that's why he's there and I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about," she said. CBS notes that Sanders did not say whether she believes previous presidents—including Barack Obama—were also selected by the Almighty.

Sanders also attacked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's claim that a border wall would be "immoral," reports the BBC. "Honestly, it's very hard at this point to even take a lecture from Democrats on what is moral and what isn't," she said. Asked what she saw in front of her at White House press briefings, the press secretary said she saw a lot of "angry faces" whose goal is to "trip you up," not get information. "I think if the briefing loses purpose and it isn't a good resource for the American people to get information and answers to real questions then you do have to wonder if that's the best form in order to put a message out," she said. (Earlier this week, Trump declared his support for Bible literacy classes.)
