The internet is losing its collective mind over the Game of Thrones season 8 trailer released Tuesday, nearly two minutes of glorious shots including dragons, boats, armies, characters making out, characters looking pensive, characters looking terrified, characters preparing to do battle, characters actually doing battle, Cersei drinking wine, soaring music, foreboding music, and lines like, "Everything you did brought you where you are now. Where you belong." Some coverage surrounding the trailer's release:

  • Collider has the basics: how many episodes (6), how long they are (really long), when it debuts (April 14), and the episodes' directors.
  • The trailer focuses on the epic, final battle to come, and the Hollywood Reporter looks at seven key reveals. Among them: The preview makes it clear that Tormund Giantsbane, Dolorous Edd, and Beric Dondarrion, who appeared to be doomed in the season seven finale, are still alive.
  • As for that battle, it's the Battle of Winterfell, and the Verge reminds readers of a few key plot points about it, among them the fact that the White Walkers now have their very own dragon.
  • GoT cast photos were also released this week, and Entertainment Weekly has a slideshow of them—along with what plot points of the final season they might be teasing.
