What a trooper. Kelly Clarkson underwent surgery to remove her appendix within hours of hosting the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday. The 37-year-old showed "absolutely no signs of discomfort" throughout the show, which saw her perform twice, per E!, though she'd been suffering stomach pain for days. "I may or may not have broken down in tears after the show from pain," Clarkson said in a Thursday tweet.

She wrote that she immediately flew from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and underwent surgery Thursday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. "Feeling awesome now! Bye bye appendix." The singer—whose NBC talk show will premiere in September—is expected to be recovered enough to attend The Voice's live show on Monday, per People. (A surprise wedding also followed the awards show.)
