(Newser) – LeBron James returned from his first-ever suspension Wednesday night for the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Indiana Pacers—and he had two fans ejected from their courtside seats in Indianapolis. With 2:29 left in overtime, the two Pacers fans, a man and a woman, were escorted out by security after James brought a referee over and gestured at them, USA Today reports. As they left, the man appeared to laugh while the woman made a pouting gesture and pretended to wipe away tears. The Lakers went on to win 124-116, with James scoring a season-high 39 points. After the game, he said "obscene gestures and words" were involved in the expulsion.

"There's a difference between cheering on your home faithful, booing opponents, not wanting your opponents to be successful and there's then moments where it goes outside the line with obscene gestures and words," James said, per CNN. "That shouldn't be tolerated in our game from nobody. I would never say it to a fan and a fan should never say it to a player." The star also addressed the incident with the Detroit Pistons' Isaiah Stewart that led to both men being ejected from Sunday's game and suspended. "Definitely accidental, I'm not that type of player," James said of what the NBA called a "reckless" hit to Stewart's face. (Read more LeBron James stories.)
