Yes, Jack McBrayer is like Kenneth the Page, his 30 Rock character. Sort of. In an interview with Salon, the actor admits he’s “somewhat of a people-pleaser”—though the former Applebee's employee of the month has serious comedy chops. The Southerner met creator Tina Fey at Chicago’s Second City, and she “kind of wrote the part with me in mind,” he says.

Even more than his sweet smile and John Edwards hair, McBrayer is defined by his accent. “It sets me apart,” the Georgia native says. “I also have no chin whatsoever.” In his free time, McBrayer stars in a series on Funny or Die. Does he play straight-laced Kenneth? Nope. He offers advice on “keeping your bitches in line” in fake infomercials for gangsters. (More 30 Rock stories.)
