Police are hunting for the aunt of a boy who burst into a California health club shackled, bloodied, and pleading for help, the Sacramento Bee reports. Caren Ramirez is already wanted for a probation violation on felony child abuse charges, and neighbors say she’s recently visited the home of a couple who police arrested on charges of kidnapping and torture after speaking to the boy.

"The key to this whole thing is the capture of Caren Ramirez," a police spokesman said. "Until we get her, it's just a giant jigsaw." The boy, who had been missing since he ran away from a Sacramento group home 15 to 18 months ago, is recovering at a local hospital. A guard has been posted at the door for his safety and officers moved by his ordeal have chipped in to buy him a Nintendo.
