New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis is now the thrower of one of the world's most expensive snowballs. The NFL fined Ellis $10,000 for tossing a big wad of snow at Seattle fans during Sunday's game, the New York Post reports. No one was injured. The fans had been pelting Jets players and coaches with snowballs of their own, so Ellis figured turnabout was fair play. "It was all in fun," he says.

The league disagreed, though Jets coach Eric Mangini thought Seattle's security could have been better. "That situation in the stadium in general was not a very safe situation for anybody involved," he said. "That doesn't justify us getting involved in it on the flip side of that. He understands that. We thought there could have been more done to prevent what was happening in terms of the safety from snowballs coming down." (More Shaun Ellis stories.)
