Amanda Knox spoke in court today for the first time since her trial began, both to declare her innocence and to set the record straight about her vibrator. A witness had said Kercher was chagrined that Knox kept the sex toy in a transparent bag in plain view. “It was a joke,” Knox explained in fluent Italian. “It was pink and shaped like a little rabbit,” she said, apparently referring to a Rampant Rabbit vibrator.

Knox also said she was sure “everything will be resolved” in court. Earlier, a friend of Kercher’s testified that after the murder Knox and then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito had shown no emotion. "She put her feet up on his lap and they were kissing and cuddling and talking." She recalled another friend saying she hoped Kercher hadn’t suffered, to which Knox allegedly replied, “What do you think? She...bled to death.” (More Amanda Knox stories.)
