A 911 tape released yesterday reveals the last moments of a woman desperately trying to direct rescuers to her car as it submerged in floodwaters, the AP reports. The 49-year-old Oklahoma woman told operators she had her nose against the car’s roof. “Please hurry, because I'm running out of air and if I climb out of this car I'm going to go down,” she said.

“I need to get out now. I'm drowning,” she said soon after that during the May 2 call. She asked whether she should try to exit the car. Highway patrol officials say the woman had driven around road-closed signs and into floodwaters. Her car was found some 300 feet off the roadway; her body was recovered the next day.
