David Beckham and Tom Cruise have such an amazing friendship, it inspired almost a chapter in a new book about the soccer star, reports the New York Daily News. The two met in 2003 and now share an agency, PR firm, vacations, and zip code. And Cruise has influenced many of Beckham’s decisions, from joining the LA Galaxy to the name of his third son: Cruz.

Perhaps surprisingly, religion is one area where Cruise apparently has no influence. Scientology is “something I respect, because Tom’s explained to me and Victoria what it’s all about,” Beckham says. “But he’s never turned around and said, ‘That is what you should be doing,’ because he would never do that. He and Katie have their beliefs, but me and Victoria have also got our own.” (More David Beckham stories.)
