Daequan Cook's three-pointer with 2 seconds left sent it to the extra session. Magic coach Stan Van Gundy won in his first trip back to Miami. Elsewhere on the hardwood: Detroit improved to 13-2 in December with hot shooting throughout, including a 40-point second quarter. Richard Hamilton led the Pistons with 23 points and nine assists. Chicago outlasted Milwaukee 103-99 to give interim coach Jim Boylan the win in his first game. Said Boylan afterward: "I've been chasing this a long time." Chicago's Ben Gordon scored 31 points.
