Brad Pitt may be a staunch liberal, but he and his conservative mom probably agree on at least one thing: gun rights. In an interview with the Daily Mail's Live magazine picked up by Sky News, Pitt explains why he keeps weapons around. "America is a country founded on guns. It's in our DNA," he says. "It's very strange, but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I don't feel safe, I don't feel the house is completely safe, if I don't have one hidden somewhere."

He adds that he got his first gun—a BB gun—"in nursery school," had his "first shotgun by first grade," and "had shot a handgun by third grade." Pitt was also in the news over the weekend because he actually discussed—sigh!—his upcoming nuptials. Click to see what he had to say. (More guns stories.)
