Celebrity | Met Gala Gwyneth Deems Met Gala 'So Un-Fun' Apparently Costume Institute event did not live up to Paltrow's expectations By Evann Gastaldo Posted May 9, 2013 8:47 AM CDT Copied Gwyneth Paltrow attends The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute benefit celebrating "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" on Monday May 6, 2013 in New York. (Photo by Charles Sykes/Invision/AP) Apparently not even her bright pink gown could cheer up Gwyneth Paltrow at the Met costume gala. According to USA Today, the World's Most Beautiful Woman panned the swanky party as "so un-fun." In a quote that is attributed to her but thin in terms of details like who she said it to, and when, Paltrow apparently complained, "I'm never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all." Some reactions to Paltrow's diss: Writes Nardine Saad in the Los Angeles Times, "Maybe she's got a problem with punk theme? Or was too warm in her own Barbie-like gown?" (As for that gown, Gwyneth reportedly told Vogue she ignored the ball's punk theme, though she noted that her dress could be seen as punk "in that I've gone just totally classic on a punk night.") "Not only might these alleged comments be hurtful to the institute, but they hopefully won’t get back to Taylor Swift, with whom Us Weekly reports she bonded on Monday night," writes Julie Miller in Vanity Fair.
