Greg Paulus scored 18 points as the No. 2 Duke Blue Devils beat the shorthanded No. 3 Tar Heels 89-78. North Carolina was playing without their starting point guard Ty Lawson, who sprained his ankle against Florida State on Sunday. Duke buried 13 3-pointers, compared to UNC’s three, and had a comfortable lead for most of the second half, reports the Associated Press.

Tyler Hansbrough led North Carolina with 28 points and 18 rebounds. The Blue Devils didn’t have an answer for the two-time All-American down low, but no other player really stepped up for the Tar Heels. Six different Duke players scored in double figures as the Blue Devils improved to 20-1 overall and 8-0 in the ACC. (More basketball stories.)
