Jon Stewart came to the rescue Monday when New York City's Metropolitan Transportation Authority found what it called some "very baaaaad boys" munching grass on a subway track in Brooklyn, the New York Times reports. The MTA tweeted a photo of two goats, which had apparently escaped from a slaughterhouse, loose on the track. Word of their plight quickly spread online, where they were christened "Billy and Willy," Variety reports. After they were captured, Jon Stewart stepped in to help transport the goats to an upstate New York shelter run by the Farm Sanctuary group. Video posted on Twitter showed Stewart, a longtime animal welfare advocate, helping to get the animals into a truck. (Stewart also stepped in after a runaway bull incident in 2016.)
