Online commentary has pushed yet another celebrity to take a break from social media. "In light of my recent experiences I am choosing to take a step back, of sorts, from Twitter," actor Will Poulter tweeted Wednesday. The move appeared to come in response to comments saying Poulter looked "ugly" in Bandersnatch, the special interactive episode of Black Mirror that debuted on Netflix Friday. As Variety explains, Poulter, who will be 26 this month, "sports a head of spiky bleach-blond hair instead of his usual sandy brown locks." The BBC has screenshots of Poulter from the episode.

"There is a balance to be struck in our engagements with social media," Poulter continued. "There are positives to enjoy and inevitable negatives that are best avoided. It’s a balance I have struggled with for a while now and in the interest of my mental health I feel the time has come to change my relationship with social media." He said he will still occasionally tweet on behalf of several anti-bullying organizations he works with. Many on Twitter have come to Poulter's defense, including quite a few who disagree with that "ugly" assessment: "basic twitter is adopting Will Poulter after #Bandersnatch but 10 year old me got there first," notes one user. "Where were you b----es for Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (circa 2010)." (This actress took a break from Twitter for a different reason.)
