(Newser) – Like her father, Isabella Cruise is apparently gung-ho for Scientology. "If you are going to make it as a being for the long run you NEED this. That's the truth," the 26-year-old adopted daughter of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman writes of her training to become a Scientology auditor in a testimonial included in a March 19 email sent out by Scientology London and obtained by journalist Tony Ortega. Cruise, identified by Ortega by her picture, urges followers to intern to become an auditor—a person who operates an e-meter, or electropsychometer, which Scientologists believe can reveal a person's thoughts and crimes. It's "what made me a Scientologist. I don't just believe the tech works now. I know without any doubt that it does," she writes. "It's a lot of effort. It's a few meltdowns and running to the bathroom to have a mini episode, but it is worth everything," she adds.

Ortega tells the Daily Beast the internship would've cost around $20,000 and involved countless hours of training. "If you do anything wrong, you've got to go back and do that whole exercise all over again ... It's physically brutal, it's mentally brutal," he says, noting one person he spoke to "spent weeks on a process just learning to turn the e-meter on." "It turned out it was exactly what I needed ... The missing piece. Suddenly everything began to make sense," writes Cruise, who will be able to grill other Scientologists. She concludes the testimonial by thanking church leader David Miscavige, Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, and her dad, who appears as immersed in the church as ever. Ortega has posted pics said to be from a recent L. Ron Hubbard birthday event in Clearwater, Fla., and he says a closer look reveals Cruise (who now lives in Clearwater, per People) in the front row.
