Rogen: Twitter Clash With Cruz Is More Than a Feud

Sen. Ted Cruz doesn't always fire back against his critics on Twitter—but when he responded to Seth Rogen last week, it sparked a clash that has lasted for days. The Republican has called the actor a "Marxist" and a "moron" and accused him out being an out-of-touch Hollywood elite, while Rogen has repeatedly called Cruz a "fascist" and condemned him for helping inspire the "white supremacist" insurrection at the Capitol, Slate reports. "This isn’t a Twitter 'feud,'" Rogen tweeted Sunday. Cruz "tried to overthrow our government. He inspired a deadly mob to storm the Capitol." The clash began when Rogen responded to Cruz's "Paris" tweet with a terse "F--- off you fascist." Cruz told Rogen that the Democrats were the party of "rich angry celebrities" but not blue-collar workers. Rogen told Cruz that he belongs to four unions.

When Rogen told Cruz that everyone who made Fantasia, his favorite movie, would "hate him," Cruz retorted that Walt Disney was a Republican, reports Fox: He added, "Even though you behave online like a Marxist with Tourette’s (screaming 'F U! F U!' is really, really clever), your movies are typically pretty funny." Rogen and other commenters took issue with the use of Tourette's as an insult. "As someone who has Tourette’s in their family (and also has a very mild case himself), I once again take great pleasure in telling you to go f--- yourself," Rogen tweeted, adding: "Also VERY few cases of Tourette’s manifest in uncontrollable swearing. Most cases, like mine, manifest in twitching." Rogen also retweeted fellow funnyman Billy Eichner, who said, "Ted Cruz doing clumsy Trump cosplay is so embarrassing. Sweetie, you don’t have *it*."
