The New York Yankees today brought in Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez from Detroit to replace the injured Jorge Posada, the Post reports. The Yankees traded relief pitcher Kyle Farnsworth to the Tigers for the 36-year-old all-star catcher. Posada had shoulder surgery today and is done for the season.

"You get an everyday catcher who will catch your staff for nine innings," said Yankee GM Brian Cashman, "versus someone who is doing an outstanding job for us in the eighth inning. It's robbing Peter to pay Paul, no doubt about it."
