Everyone can breathe a big sigh of relief: Cara and Mady Gosselin’s 9th birthday party went off without parents Jon and Kate killing each other. Though Kate made a well-publicized request for Jon to leave after 2 hours, she eventually gave in and told him, “You can stay as long as you like,” Radar reports. “We kept it cordial for the kids,” Jon tells Us.

The real story, though: What mysterious entertainment show was behind the cake Jon brought (a cake that had Mady’s name misspelled, no less)? The bakery tells TMZ “a person from ‘Entertainment Something’” ordered the $94 pastry and asked to shoot inside the store when Jon arrived. Jon also may have made a deal to get paid for shots of himself outside playing with the kids, Radar adds. (More Jon Gosselin stories.)
