Sarah Palin used $63,000 of her political action committee's funds to buy copies of her book Going Rogue last year. SarahPAC used the money to send copies of the book to donors who'd met a contribution target. The committee also ponied up $8,000 for "colorful bookmarks," ABC News reports.

Palin's use of her PAC to buy her own book is not a first in politics, and not illegal, because she is currently neither holds nor is running for office. It is unknown whether Palin has agreed, as Joe Lieberman did in a similar situation in 2004, to decline to take royalties from the books purchased by her PAC.
